THE LIFE-GIVING POWER OF JESUS CHRIST
Matt was born into a household surrounded by crime. By the age of 8, he had already started drinking, and by 11 using crank, meth, and engaging in violent behavior. After seeing this way of life claim his brother, a part of Matt died that day, and he sank even deeper into drinking and drugs. The Lord reached in a year later and rescued Matt. He began a legitimate relationship with Jesus Christ and began to look for ways to bring glory to God.
One particularly hot day, while Matt was driving over the bridge into downtown Salem and was desperately craving a drink of cold water, Matt asked God what His purpose was for him. He went to the nearest Rite Aid and bought large packs of bottled water. That day, while handing out this water to those experiencing homelessness, Matt started up conversations and relationships with 168 people.
After that experience, the Lord put Be Bold Street Ministry on Matt’s heart, and he has been reaching out to people on the streets ever since. Our team believes that no matter what someone’s current circumstances or choices are, it does not remove their humanity. Be Bold seeks to rehumanize their neighbors on the streets as well as everyone they meet. Be Bold’s goal is to bring glory to God in everything we do and live every moment as if the Lord could return.
ON THE STREETS WITH ONE UNIFYING GOAL
Today, Be Bold Street Ministry is made up of a team of individuals from all walks of life. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we simply desire to see Jesus Christ glorified and made known among all the people we come in contact with. We are so thankful for those who have volunteered and given of their resources for the furtherance of the Gospel.
